Waxx Lyrical is operated and curated by Ben Preece, alongside a knowledgeable board of members who weigh in on Record of the Month selections and help shape our monthly, community-driven events. In 2023, Lauren Tucker joined the team, bringing her deep expertise in human connection to the forefront of what we do—helping to cultivate an even stronger sense of community and engagement among our members.

We’re also backed by a crack team of writers, reviewers, and photographers, each bringing their own sharp perspective and passion for music.

Ben’s background includes founding Mucho Bravado, a management and publicity company that helped launch and develop talents like Hungry Kids of Hungary, Ball Park Music, Andy Bull, The Church, The Kite String Tangle, Eves Karydas, Asha Jefferies, WAAX, and Katy Steele (Little Birdy). With experience as a DJ, music programmer, festival curator, radio announcer, and music journalist, Ben brings a wealth of industry knowledge to Waxx Lyrical. Most importantly, he’s driven by an unwavering passion for music.
