Founded in 2019, Waxx Lyrical is an independent record club and boutique online store headquartered in Brisbane. Since the beginning, we’ve served vinyl lovers across Australia (and beyond), delivering high-quality records and editorial-driven experiences you won’t find anywhere else.

We’ve collaborated on exclusive releases with some of the world’s most iconic labels—Sub Pop (USA), Universal Music UK, Communion UK, EMI Music Australia, Liberation Records, Future Classic, Warner Music Australia, Island UK, and more.

Waxx Lyrical is curated and run by Ben Preece, alongside a knowledgeable team of members who help shape our Record of the Month picks and guide our monthly, community-driven events. In 2023, Lauren Tucker joined the team, bringing her deep expertise in human connection to help transform the club into something more—something deeply communal, warm, and lasting.

We’re also backed by a crack team of writers, reviewers, and photographers—each bringing their own sharp perspective and enduring passion for the craft.

 

Ben’s music industry background spans artist management, music programming, publicity, marketing, radio, DJing, festival curation, and journalism. He previously founded one of the country’s most esteemed management, publicity, and marketing companies—working with a huge array of emerging and established artists. That breadth of experience flows into everything we do here at Waxx Lyrical.
