Forever Five: Meg Washington

Meg Washinton poses for a promo photo 2025

This week’s Forever Five belongs to someone who truly rules—Meg Washington. A career shapeshifter in the best sense, Meg’s career has traced one of the most quietly influential arcs in Australian music. She’s moved with elegance from rich, early stylings to wry, incisive indie pop, never settling, always searching. Along the way, she’s released ARIA-winning records, lent her voice to beloved characters in Bluey, and teamed up with her filmmaker partner to create instant classics like How to Make Gravy through a cinematic lens.

Her Forever Five is a window into that ever-curious creative mind. There’s range, yes—but also real emotional throughlines, unexpected links, and a love of music that values both craft and connection. It’s the kind of list that doesn’t just show what she listens to—it shows how she listens.
