Ahead of their Aussie national tour kicking off in April (keep all the fingers crossed it goes ahead), Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever have shared an excellent new video for their single 'The Only One' from their latest record Sideways To New Italy.
Directed by Michael Ridley, the video follows the plight of a pie just making his way through life in a human world around local Melbourne streets. It does evoke distant memories of the classic Michel Gondry-directed video for Blur's 'Coffee & TV' but, with not nearly a comparable budget.
The joyful video is a perfect antidote for these current times, though there isn't a mask or hand sanitizer in sight and Pie Man certainly isn't keeping his distance.
Released in June, the exceptional Sideways To New Italy was released in June to acclaim for audiences and critics alike. In their NME Australia cover story, the band tell the heartbreaking story of March 13 2020 as they prepared to play the Sydney Opera House steps with their teenage heroes Pixies, before it was all cancelled and the country went into lockdown.
